Aiden

Just for giggles...

We have an interesting adverb in our house. Not really, way, or even the very annoying hecka. No, my kids use the word "soaking".

Aiden started using this modifier about two years ago. Erik thinks he picked it up after being told he was soaking wet and then started to apply it to different words. People can be soaking tired, soaking sad, and soaking dirty. Things can be soaking weird, soaking fast, or soaking crazy.

Erik and I never corrected Aiden because it's a cute kid-ism and, let's face it, it's catchy to boot. We have been using it ever since and now Sean has picked it up. So if you come to our house please don't look at us funny, we think we are soaking cool!

At long last....

The day Aiden has been waiting finally arrived. No, not his birthday or Christmas. He finally lost a tooth. Actually he has lost two teeth.

The first he lost while eating dinner at Brew It Up. He was eating his pizza and when he finished he looked at me and asked "Where's my tooth?". I said "I don't know but it's not in your mouth!". We searched his plate, the booth, and the floor, but alas, no tooth. He had swallowed it. Cheese pizza or tooth, apparently it all tastes the same. He was very upset until he learned that the tooth fairy has x-ray vision (thanks grandpa!) and could verify the presence of said tooth in his stomach. Phew.

He lost his second tooth at Nana and Grandpop's house. He was sleeping, got up to get water, and noticed it was missing. Yep, swallowed again. The tooth fairy has definitely gotten the short end of the stick with this one - two dollars and no teeth!

We are hoping the next one makes it into that expensive and obviously unnesscessary tooth pillow.
